Density of P, dp = 1.5 g `cm^(-3)`
Density od Q, dQ = 1.3 g `cm^(-3)`
Density of the mixture `(d_m)`
` = (" mass of P + mass of Q ")/( "Volume of P + Volume of Q")`
`rArr d_m =(m_P + m_Q)/(V_P + V_Q) =(d_P + V_P + d_Q xx V_Q)/(V_P + V_Q)`
But `V_P = V_Q = x`
` therefore d_m = (d_P + x + d_Q xx x)/(2x) = (d_P + d_Q)/(2)`
` = (1.5 + 1.3)/(2) = (2.8)/(2) = 1.4 g cm^(-3)`
