Find the energy possessed by a bird of 5 kg moving at a constant height of 10 m from the ground with a speed of 2 m `s^(-1)`. (Take `g = 10 m s^(-2)`)

Given, mass, (m) = 5 kg
Height from the ground, h = 10 m
Velocity, v = 2 m `s^(-1)`
g = 10 m `s^(-2)`
The bird possesses both potential energy (PE) and kinetic energy (KE).
`:.` PE = mgh = `5 xx 10 xx 10` = 500 J
`KE = 1/2 mv^2 = 1/2 xx 5 xx 2^2` = 10 J
`:.` Energy possessed by the bird = 500 + 10 = 510 J
