Electrical energy is supplied to houses through two wires, live and neutral wires. If any appliance is to use electrical energy, one end of the appliance is to be connected to a live wire and other end of the appliance is to be connected to a neutral wire. Electric current passes from the live wire to the neutral wire through the appliance. In this process, electrical energy is converted into other forms of energy.
