Why is distilled water not suitable for drinking?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Distilled water does not contain the required mineral salts and dissolved gases. The nutrients from body fluids get dissolved in this water and are sent out, thus, leading to deficiency of vital nutrients. Distilled water has a bland and insipid taste and is in fact considered as tasteless. Hence, distilled water is not suitable for drinking.
