Forest (climax) stage The climax vegetation of trees depends on the climate of the region. If the climate is dry, trees like Acacia grow. In relatively moist and wet climate, mesophytic trees grow and a dense climax forest is formed. Along with the changes in the plant life in a xerosere (as also in a hydrosere), there is also a change in the animal life. The colonisation starts with ants and spiders and goes upto a variety of arthropods, birds and mammals by the time the climax community is formed.
