There are three levels of biological diversity
(i) Genetic diversity Variations in the genetic composition of individuals within a species or among species is known as genetic diversity.
(ii) Species diversity It pertains to the variety of species present in a particular area or ecosystem.
(iii) Ecosystem diversity It refers to diversity of habitats, e.g. terrestiral and aquatic ecosystem.
