Differentiate between the principle of e...

Differentiate between the principle of estimation of nitrogen in an organic compound by (i) Dumas method and (ii) Kjeldahl’s method.

Text Solution

In Duma's method, nitrogen evolved from the organic compound is measured and then estimated. In Kjeldahl's method, nitrogen present in the organic compound is converted into ammonia which then is estimated volumetrically. For details, consult Section 12.49.
