What is the structural difference between HDP and LDP? How does the structure account for different behaviour and nature hence use of polymer?

Text Solution

HDP (High density polythene) consists of linear chains of monomer units that are closely packed in space. That is why its density is high as compared to LDP (Low density polythene) in which the monomer chains are branched and are loosely packed. The structural difference is responsible for the two types of polythenes. For details, consult section 5.
