Integral part of the product of non-real...

Integral part of the product of non-real roots of equation `x^(4)-4x^(3)+6x^(2)-4x=69` is _______.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
9

We have `x^(4)-4x^(3)+6x^(2)-4x=69`
`rArrx^(4)-4x^(3)+6x^(2)-4x+1=70`
`rArr (x-1)^(4)=70`
`rArr (x-1)^(2)=pm sqrt70`
For the product of non-real roots, consider
`(x-1)^(2)=-sqrt70`
`rArr x^(2)-2x+1+sqrt70=0`
Therefore, product is `1+sqrt70`,whose intgral part is 9.
