What is parturition ? Name the hormone involved in induction of parturition.

The expulsion of fully grown foetus (young one) from the mother.s uterus at the end of gestation or pregnancy is called parturition. Hormones involved in the induction of parturition are (a) Oxytocin. It causes powerful contractions of myometrium during parturition. (b) Relaxin. Causes windening of pelvis by relaxing the pubic symphysis and helps in dilation of uterine cervix.
