Name the hormone responsible for the descent of testes into the scrotum. Why does the failure of the process result in sterlity ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Insulin like hormone 3 (INSL 3-Peptide Hormone) and Testosterene produced by leydig. cells is responsible for descent of testes. The failure of the process leads to sterility because sperm formation does not occur at the abdominal temperature. Scrotum acts as a thermoregulator. Cryptoorchidism is the failure of one or both testes to descend into scrotum.
