Role of different hormones.
FSH - Stimulates the ovarian follicles to secrete estrogen. Stimulates the proliferation of the endometrium of the uterine wall. Stimulates the maturation of graafian follicles. Stimulates the release of ovum (ovulation).
LH -

Develops corpus luteum and secretion of progesterone Maintains pregnancy.
Estrogen -Controls the changes in the secondary sex organs in first half of menstrual cycle. Stimulates growth, maturation and functions of secondary sex organs. Repairs the damaged tissues of uterus and fallopian tubes after menstruation. Stimulates maturation of ova development of uterine lining and mammary glands.
Progesterone- Facilitates the preparation of the endometrium for implantation. Inhibits the contraction of the uterus and the development of new follicle. Maintain pregnancy.
