These drugs stimulate the nervous system and make a person more wakeful, alert and active. e.g.,
(i) Caffeine. White crystalline alkaloid obtained from seeds of coffee plant Coffea arabica. Thea sinensis or form seeds of Cocoa plant Theobroma cocoa (also yields cocoa and chocolate).
(ii) Cocaine. Natural coca alkaloid is obtained from leaves of Erythroxylum coca. It is a powerful CNS stimulant. It is also commonly called Coke or Crack.
