What do you mean by direct transmission of diseases ? List four ways by which direct transmission of diseases takes place.

Induced or Indirect Transmission. The pathogens of some disease are carried through some intermediate agents. It occurs in the follwoing ways
(i) Arthropod Vectors (e.g., House fly-typhoid, cholera, dysentery, blood sucking insects, female Anopheles-malaria, Tse tse fly-African sleeping sickness).
(ii) Vehicle-borne Method (e.g., cholera, dysentry, typhoid, AIDS and Hepatitis B).
(iii) Air-borne Method (e.g., epidemic typhus).
(iv) Formite-borne Method (e.g., influenza, cholera etc.).
(v) Human Carriers (e.g., diphtheria and typhoid).
