Biomagnification is increase in concentration of toxicants at successive trophic levels e.g., toxic substances like mercury or DDT, when pass on to the next higher level, get accumulated in the food chain. It is observed that 0.003 ppb of DDT in water can reach to 25 ppm in fish eating.
