How does the forests help in maintaining the climate?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Forests play a vital role in maintaining the climate through their absorption and creation of rainfall and their exchange of atmospheric gases. They absorb `CO_2` in the atmosphere from human activities. Excess `CO_2` in the atmosphere is contributing to the climate change. So rainforests have important role in managing climate change. `CO_2` is one of the major green house gas. Rainforests also help in moderating temperature by bringing rainfall and transpiration, keeping surroundings cool.
