List some ill effects of water pollution.

Explanation

(i) Polluted water damages the aquatic plants and causes deoxygenation of water.
(ii) Various toxic substances containating water, like Hg, Cd, Arsenic, Pb are poisonous and cause mysterious diseases as they enter the food chain.
(iii) Sewage water contains disease causing germs and spread diseases like typhoid , cholera, dysentery and Jaundice.
(iv) Thermal pollution in water body affects the aquatic life causing death of fishes etc.
