Eutrophication is biological enrichment of water with age. When water from streams merge into river or lakes it brings nutrients alongwith so more number of plants and animals grow in those water bodies. Also with time organic matter and debris pile up making the lake shallow and warm. Gradually bog (large mass of floating plants) is created thus water body changes to land over the period of thousands of years.
