(ii) Following steps if taken, can help to solve the problem to a great extent :
(a) Carry household items/groceries in paper, jute and cloth bags.
(b) To minimise the use of plastic voluntarily and not by coercion.
(c). Door-to-door collection of garbage and segregation of biodegradable and non biodegradable waste material at the collection point to ensure safe disposal later.
(d) Urgent need to educate people on environmental and health risks posed by plastic bags to animals.
(e) Production of biodegradable plastic bags by mixing cellulose, during their/manufacturing.
