Ahmed Khan, a plastic sack manufacturer of Bengaluru has been producing plastic sacks for 20 years. After some years, his company developed a fine powder of recycled modified plastic, polyblend. This mixture is mixed with the bitumen that is used to lay roads. In collaboration with R.V. College of Engineering and the Bengaluru City Corporation, Ahmed Khan proved that blends of polyblend and bituinen, when used to lay roads, enchanced the bitumen.s water repellant properties, and helped to increase road life by a factor of three. Using Khan.s technique, by the year 2002, more than 40 km of road in Bengaluru has already being laid.

A doll manufacturing company manufatures two types of dolls, type A and type B. Each doll of type A takes twice as long as to produce of type B. The company has enough time to manufacture as maximum of 2000 dolls per day if it produces only type B dolls. The supply of plastic is sufficient enough to manufacture a total of 1500 dolls every day. The type A dolls requires fancy dress of which only 550 are available daily. If the company makes a profit of Rs.8 on each type of doll A and Rs.5 on each type of doll B. how many of each type of dolls should the company manufacture everyday so as to get a maximum profit. Also find the maximum profit.

A manufacture of electronic circuits has a stock of 200 resistors, 120 transistors and 150 capacitors and is requried to produce two types of circuits A and B. Type A requires 20 resistors, 10 transistors and 10 capacitors. Type B requires 10 resistors, 20 transisitros and 30 capacitors. if the profit on type A circit is Rs.50 and that on type B circuit is Rs.60, formulate this problem as an LPP so that the manufacture can maximize his profit. also solve this LPP graphically to find the maximum profit.

Synthetic polymers are finding applications in almost all spheres of life and are making our life comfortable. Their large scale use has been based on their relative inertness to environment Process giving them durability for long time. However, their long durability is not altogether an advantage. These solid wastes remain undegraded for quite a long time and their disposal has created a serious problem of waste management. If the overuse of plastics continues, it will pose a serious threat to all of us. After reading the above passage, answer the following question : Is it advisable to continue with overuse of plastics due to their immense use in our daily life?

A manufacturer considers that men and women are equally efficient and so he pays them at the same rate. He has 30 and 27 units of workers ( male and female) and capital respectively, which he uses to produce two types of goods A and B. To produce one unit of A 2 workers and 3 units of capital are required while 3 workers and 1 unit of capital are required to produce one unit of B. If A and B are priced at Rs 100 and Rs 120 per unit respectively, how should he use his resources to maximise the total revenue? From the above as as LPP and solve graphically. Do you agree with this view of the manufacturer that men and women are equally efficient and so should be paid at the same rate?
