Why are medicines more effective in colloidal state ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Most of the medicine are colloidal in nature. For example, argyrol is a silver sol used as eye lotion. Colloidal antimoney is used for the treatment of kalaazar. Colloidal gold is used for intermuscular injection. Milk of magnesia is used for acidity. Colloidal medicines are more effective because they have large surface area and are therefore easily assimilated by our body.
