Diplontic `:` It is found in all the seed bearing plants. The dominant vegetative phase is diploid, called sporophyte. It bears sex organs which produce gametes. At the time of fertilisation these are again fused together and form sporophytic body. In this life cycle haploid phase is represented by gametes only but sporophytic phase is alternate with it.
