What are the advantages of mycorrhizae association ?

Mycorrhizae association has the following advantages `:`
(i) Fungal hyphae of mycorrhiza absorbs minerals from the a large area of soil and pass it to the root.
(ii) These associations increase water availability to the root.
(iii) In mycorrhizae, fungus produces growth promoting hormones.
(iv) Fungus protects the root from parasitic fungi and harmful bacteria by secreting antimicrobial substances.
(v) In orchid, the fungus absorbs nourishment from outside. It then passes the same to germinating sees as these seeds are devoid of stored food.
(vi) Due to mycorrhizal associations the plants are able to grow in mineral deficient soil and also under unfavourable pH and temperature conditions.
