Diplontic life cycle

Explanation

In this type of life cycle dominant photosynthetic phase is sporophyte. It is independent phase of the plant . Gametophytic phase is represented by the single to few celled haploid gametophyte. All seed bearing plants, that is, gymnosperm and angiosperm and few algae such as Fucus (algae) follow this type of life cycle.
