Name the three basic tissue systems in the flowering plants. Give the tissue names under each system.

All the plant tissues which perform same common function, irrespetive of their position in the body, constitute tissue system. There are 3 main types of tissue systems in plant body.
(i) Epidermal tissue system
This tissue system includes epidermis, cuticle and wax, stomata, trichomes (For example, unicellular hair, multicellular hair, scales, colleters, water vesicles or bladders ) etc.
(ii) Ground tissue system
This tissue system includes cortex, endodemis, pericycles, medulary rays, pith and ground tissue of leaves.
(iii) Vascular tissue system
It includes vascular tissue, that is, xylem and phloem. These tissues are found in the form of vascular bundles. The following terms are commonly used to designate the type of vascular bundles and arrangements of xylem and phloem : radial,conjoint, collaterel, bicollateral, concentric, open vascular bundle, closed vascular bundle, medullary bundles, cortical bundles.
