We are given : `u = 30 ms ^(-1) , v = 20 ms ^(-1) and t = 5 s `
We arew to calculate, retardation (-a) and distance (S)
Using relation : `v = u + at` we get `implies a = (v -u )/(t) = ( 20 - 30)/(5) = - 2 ms ^(-2)`
Therefore retardation is `2 ms ^(-2)`
using relation , `S = ut + (1)/(2) at ^(2),` we get
`S = 30 xx 5 - (1)/(2) xx 2 xx (5) ^(2) = 150 =12 5 m`
