Explain how a Galvanometer can be converted into Voltmeter.

A galvanometer can be converted into a voltmeter by connecting a large resistance in series with the coil of galvanometer.

The current flowing through galvanometer is,
`I _(g) = (V)/( G + R)`
Where G = R Resistance of galvanometer
R = Resistance connected
`implies G + R = (V)/( I _(R)) , R = (V)/( I _(g)) - G`
