Explanation

In 1865, James Clark Maxwell gave an opinion that time varying electric field give rise to time varing magnetic field. He also suggested these time varying electric and magnetic fields are the sources of each other and can propagate through space in the form of electromagnetic waves. Later in 1887, these e.m. waves were experimentally demonstrated by Hertz by using an oscillator and then detected them successfully. In 1895, Marconi established a communication across a distance of 50km using e.m. waves, making an important discovery.
