Radio waves diffract pronouncedly around building while light waves do not why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Only those waves are diffracted, whose wavelengths are of the order of size of obstacle. The wavelength of radio waves is comparable to the size of object. Hence they get diffracted. On the other hand, wavelength of light waves is very small as compared to the size of building. Hence light waves do not diffract.
