Red shift : The phenomenon of increase in wavelength or decrease in frequency, due to doppler effect, is known as red shift. This is so called because wavelength of source moves towards the red end of the spectrum.
Blue shift : The phenomenon of decrease in wavelength or increase in frequency, due to doppler effect, is known as blue shift. This is so called because wavelength of source moves towards the blue end of the spectrum.
