Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Consider a.spherical conductor of radius r with centre O.
Let q = Charge given to the. sphere which is supposed to be concentrated at O.
Let V= Potential at. any point on the surface of spherical conductor.
and `V =1/(4pi epsilon_(0)) q/r`
Capacitance of the spherical conductor `=C = q/V`

`C =q/(1/(4pi epsilon_(0)).q/r)`
`C = 4pi epsilon_(0)r`
`rArr` Capacitance of a spherical conductor is directly proportional to its radius.
