Munish has two capacitors of variable capacities of range 200 uF to 500 `muF`. Find the range of capacities that he can obtain from these two capacitors.

`C_(1) = 100 muF, C_(2) = 400 muF`
These produce maximum capacitance when connected in parallel.
`rArr C_(P) = C_(1) + C_(2) = 100 + 400`
`C_(P) = 500 muF`
These produce minimum capacitance when connected in series combination
`rArr 1/C_(s) = 1/C_(1) + 1/C_(2) =1/100 + 1/400`
`1/C_(s) = (4+1)/400 = 5/400 = 1/80`
`rArr C_(s)= 80 muF`
`rArr C_(s) = 80 muF`
So these capacitors can produce capacity from 80 uF to 500 uF.
