Why soft iron is used in making the core of a transformer ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Soft iron is used in making the core of a transformer because it has narrow hysteresis loop and hence the loss of energy per unit volume is small when soft iron core is taken over complete cycle of magnetisation.
