Can a.c. be used for electrolysis? Why?...

Can a.c. be used for electrolysis? Why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For electrolysis, current must flow continuously in one direction. But in case of a.c., current reverses its direction periodically and hence a.c. can not be used for electrolysis.
