Which is more dangerous in use a.c. or d.c.? Explain, why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Alternating current (a.c.) is more dangerous than direct current (d.c.) because peak value of.a.c. is more than the induced value.
Peak value of alternating voltage =` V_0= sqrt2 V_(rms)`
`V_0=sqrt2xx220=311.1` volt
In case of d.c., peak value of alternating voltage is equal to its indicated value.
