The frequency of a.c. is doubled, what happens to
inductive reactance?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Inductive reactance `= X_L = 2pivL`
where vis frequency of a.c.
Clearly `X_L prop v`
So inductive reactance also gets doubled when frequency of a.c. is doubled.
Capacitive reactance = `X_C=1/(2pivC)`
So capacitive reactance becomes. halved when frequency of a.c. is doubled.
