A voltage V = V0 sinomegat is applied to...

A voltage `V = V_0 sinomegat` is applied to a series LCR-circuit. Derive the expression for the average power dissipated over a cycle. Under what condition no power is dissipated even though the current flows through the circuit.

`P_(av) = E_vI_vcosphi`
where `phi` = Phaşe difference between current and voltage
`P_(av)` will be maximum when `cos phi = 1`
`impliesphi =0^@`
So average power will be maximum when current and voltage are in same phase.
