Which mirror is preferred as a driver's mirror and why?

Convex mirror is used as driver.s mirror or rear view mirror because :
(i) it forms the erect and small image of the object.
(ii) it provides larger field of view of rear side.
Drawback: It does nbt provide correct information about the distance of the object coming from rear side. Objects actually aro more closer than they appear in the convex mirror.
