Constituents of a nucleus are: (i) Proton (Positively charged particles) (ii) Neutrons (Neutral particles). Properties of neutrons :
1. It is a neutral particle.
2. Inside the nucleus it behaves as stable particle but outside the nucleus is unstable.
3. It has high penetrating power.
4. The slow neutrons (called thermal neutrons) are found to be more efficient in causing nuclear reactions.
