For a common emitter amplifier, dc (direct current) current gain is 60. If the emitter current is 6.6mA, calculate the collector and base current.

Verified by Experts

`beta= 60, I_(e)= 6.6mA, I_(c)`= ? `I_(b)`= ? `beta= (I_(c))/(I_(b))`
`I_(c)= beta I_(b)= 60 I_(b)`
But `I_(e)= I_(c) + I_(b)`
`6.6 = 60 I_(b) + I_(b)`
`61I_(b)= 6.6`
`I_(b)= (6.6)/(61)= 0.108mA`
`rArr I_(c)= 60 I_(b)= 60 xx 0.108`
`I_(c)= 6.48mA`
