Modem : It is basically a modulator and demodulator circuit. It is a device which performs both the functions of modulation and demodulation. Modems can be classifed according to the modes of modem operation.
1. Simplex mode: A modem is said to be operating in simplex mode is the data is sent only in one direction.
2. Hall duplex mode: A modem is said to be operating in half duplex mode if the data is transmitted in one direction at one time and in the opposite direction at some other time.
3. Full duplex mode : A modem is said to be operating in full duplex mode if duta can be transmitted as well as received at the same time.
