A transmitting antenna at the top of a tower has a height 16m and the height of receiving antenna is 25m.What is the maximum distance between them for satisfactory communication in LOS mode? Given radius of earth is `6.4 xx10^6 m`.

Height of transmitting antenna = `h_(T)` = 16 m
Height of receiving antenna = `h_(R)` = 25 m
Radius of earth `= R = 6.4 xx 10^(6) m`.
Let Maximum distance between transmitting and receiving antenna for satisfactory commmunication in LOS mode is `d_(m) : d_(m) = sqrt(2Rh_(T)) + sqrt(2RH_(R)) `
` = sqrt(2 xx 6.4 xx 10^(6) xx 16) + sqrt(2 xx 6.4 xx 10^(6) xx 25)`
` = sqrt(2048 xx 10^(6)) + sqrt(320 xx 10^(6))`
` = 14.31 xx 10^(3) `
` = 32.20 xx 10^(3) m`
` = 32.20 km`
