A device used to convert chemical energy into electrical energy or electrical energy into chemical energy is called an electrochemical cell.
Electrochemical cells are of two types :
(i) Electrochemical cell: It is a device used to convert electrical energy into chemical energy.
(ii) Galvanic cell: it is a device used to convert chemical energy into electrical energy. it is also called voltaic acid.
