Verified by Experts

Suspension Culture. It consists of single cells and small groups of cells supended in a liquid medium, usually containing Auxin 2,4-D (2,4-Dichloro-phenoxy Acetic Acid). This culture must be constantly agitated at 150-250 rpm. Suspension cultures grow much faster than the callus culture. These can be used to achieve all biomass production, regeneration of plantlets, production of transgenic plants and isolation of the protoplasts.
