Nutrient Cycling: (i) Organisms need a constant supply of energy (food) nutrients to grow, reproduce and regulate various body functions.
Standing state: Refers to the amount of nutrients present in the soil at any given time
(ii) It varies in different kinds of ecosystems and also on seasonal basis
Nutrient cycling: Biogeochemical cycle comprised of movements of nutrients elements through various components of an ecosystem
Significance . (a) Nutrients are never lost from the ecosystem.
(b) They are recycled time and again indefinitely.
