Describe the components of an ecosystem.

Ecosystem The relationship between a biotic community and abiotic environment . Abiotic components:
(a) materials Includes inorganic substances e.g carbon , hydrogen , oxygen , sulphur , water, nitrogen and organic substances e.g Lipids , carbohydrates and proteins
(B) Energy. SOlar energy
Biotic components . These are two types:-
(a) Autotrophic . Includes green plants and photosynthetic bacteria. These are referred as producers.
(b) Heterotrophic. Includes animals and micro organisms. Animals are referred as consumers and further divide into primary consumers, secondary consumers, tertiary or top consumers.
MIcro organisms are referred as decomposers or saprotrophs.
