Efforts for consrvation of biodiversity are done internationally. The earth summit was held in 1992 of Rio de janeiro which called upon all nations to take appropriate measures for conservation of biodiversity and sustainable utilization of its benefits. IUCN, WWF and World conservation union are among the leading international organisations concerned with biodiversity conservation. in a follow up, the world summit on sustainable development was held in 2002 in jahannesburg ( south Africa) where 190 countries pledged for a significan reduction in the current rate o fbiodiversity loss at global, regional and local levels.
