A 2 V battery is connected across AB as ...

A 2 V battery is connected across AB as shown in the figure. The value of the current supplied by the battery when in first case battery's positive terminal is connected to A and in second case when positive terminal of battery is connected to B will respectively be:

A

0.1 A and 0.2 A

B

0.4 A and 0.2 A

C

0.2 A and 0.4 A

D

0.2 A and 0.1 A

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
B

When `+ve` terminal is connected to A,`D_(2)` is reversed biased & `D_(1)` will forward biased
`I = (2)/(5) = 04 A`
when `+ve` terminal is connected to B,D is reversed biased and `D_(2)` is forward biased.
`f' = (2)/(10) = 0.2 A`
