Then, find this shortest time, net velocity of boatman and drigt along the river. (b) Can the boatman reach a point just oppsite on the other shore? If yes then make the velocity diagram, the direction in which the should row his boat and the time taken to cross the river in this case. (c) How long will it iake hom to row 10 m up the stream and then back to his starting point?

Assertion:- The magnitude of velocity of two boats relative to river is same. Both boats start simultaneously from same point on one bank They may reach opposite bank simultaneously moving along different straight line paths. Reason:- For boats to cross the river in same time, the compnonet of their velocity relative to river in direction normal to flow should be same.

A man can row a boat with 4km/h in still water, if he is crossing a river where the current is 2 km/h. (a) In what direction will his boat be holded, if he wants to reach a point on the other bank, directly opposite to starting point? (b) If width of the river 4km, how long will the man take to cross the river, with the condition in part (a)? (c) In what direction shou ld he heat the boat if he wants to cross the river in shorest time and what is this minimum time? (d) How long will it take him to row 2 km up the stream and then back to his starting point?

At a harbour, a boat is standing and wind is blowing at a speed of sqrt(2)m//sec. due to which , the flag on the boat flutters along north - east. Now the boat enters in to river, which is flowing with a velocity of 2m//sec . Due north. The boat starts with zero velocity relative to the river and its constant acceleration relative to the river is 0.2m//sec^(2) due east. In which direction will the flag flutter at 10 seconds ?

A river is flowing due east with a speed 3 m//s (Fig. 2 (EP) .31 ). . (a) If swimmer starts swimming due north, what will be his resultant velocity (magnitude and direction) ? (b) If he wants to start from point (A) on South bank and reach opposite point (B) on North bank, (i) Which direction should he swim? (ii) What will be his resultant speed ? (c ) From two differenrent casses as mentioned in (a) and 9b) above, in which casse will he reach opposite bank in shorter time ?
