Calorific value of glucose from the foll...

Calorific value of glucose from the following reaction will be `C_(6)H_(12)O_(6)+6O_(2)rarr 6CO_(2)+6H_(2)O+2900 kJ`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`because` Heat evolved from 1 mole glucose = 2900 kJ
or Heat evolved from 180 gram glucose = 2900 kJ
`therefore` Heat evolved from 1 gram glucose `=(2900)/(180)=16.11 kJ`
Note : Hydrogen has the highest calorific value.
However, it is not used as domestic or industrial due ot some technical problems.
